I really don't see what is so big about this video. I've seen it posted all over in the past month. It is nothing more than some punk kid who threw a big party and isn't apologetic for it, big deal.
For a 16 year old, I think that's a pretty big deal.
The first time I saw it, I thought it was an Saturday Night Live skit or something. I couldn't believe it was real!
The big deal is that this guy is totally in his own reality, and is unreactive to the newscaster's attempt to tool him.
For 16 years old, that's pretty darn impressive. Usually kids are pretty reactive.
In response to the request to take off the glasses, I would have said, "you take something off." I did that in a club once when a girl asked me to take off my sunglasses.
If a newscaster told me to take off my glasses back when I was 16 I would have told her "no" too. I was a teenager and like any teenager I challenged anyone who tried to give me authority. I saw this all the time when I was in high school. I saw kids not do what their parents, teachers, cops, etc told them to do.
I watched the Australian show "Summer Heights High" this past fall and this kid just seems like a cheap rip off of Jonah with the exception that he isn't Tongan (here's a video of him).
